Arthur Ashe, the legendary Wimbledon player was dying of AIDS which he got due to infected blood he received during a heart surgery in 1983. From world over, he received letters from his fans, one of which conveyed:”Why does GOD have to select you for such a bad disease”?

To this Arthur Ashe replied: The world over — 5 crore children start playing tennis, 50 lakh learn to play tennis, 5 lakh learn professional tennis, 50,000 come to the circuit, 5000 reach the grand slam, 50 reach Wimbledon, 4 to semi final, 2 to the finals, When I was holding a cup I never asked GOD “Why me?”. And today in pain I should not be asking GOD “Why me?”

Removing Subversion Control over a file/folder

Tortoise SVN

I use Tortoise Svn as Subversion tool on Windows platform and Subclipse on Linux platform. For some reason, I had to remove the subversion control over a file/folder.

The solution:

  • Right click on the file/folder and goto ‘Tortoise SVN>>Export ‘
  • Then export the file/folder to itself (choose the same file/folder as the export-to file/folder)

If you observe later on, all .svn-folders in all subfolders will be removed and subversion control is lost! 🙂

RSS in a MESS!!!

I would like to fetch my posts from WordPress into my Web Portal built using Flex 3.2, where i would like to display the posts in a RSS Feed Viewer. But I realized later that WordPress does not allow crossdomain.xml to be hosted from it’s server! There is no way for a Flex program to retrieve content from WordPress at all.

One possible attempt to resolve this issue would be to make a php page or some kind of parser to run over the RSS feed or even the source code of the Web page which provided RSS feeds and then fetch the content/posts out and deliver those to my Flex application. But my Web Hosting Server does not support PHP and other languages except html/css. 🙁

I have to think of an alternative way for doing this or may be try to move to another site to host a blog page. 😉

How can you tell when people are lying? ;)

Typical Characteristics:

* Lesser eye contact or sometimes too much eye contact
* Positioning items in front of them
* Either too detail when explaining or always change topics
* Lesser body movements
* Liars tend to raise their voice just to frighten you
* Can’t remember what they said
* Creating stories or excuses that do not click. And many more, you just have to observe them once you suspect him or her.
